Did you like living in your old village?

Yes.

Did you like going to school?

Yes.

I'll bet you had many friends where you are from. Do you miss your friends?

Yes.

Did any of your friends come with you?

No.

How long have you lived here (in the IDP camp)?

I do not remember.

Do you know why you had to come here?

I came with my parents.

Do you remember moving here? How long did it take?

I do not remember.

Do you have many new friends who live here?

I have some friends, not so many. Three friends.

What do you do during the day? Do you help your parents work? Do you play?

I just play with my friends.

Do you miss going to school?

No school here, so I forgot everything about school.

What was your favorite subject?

I liked playing with cars.

What would you like to be when you grow up?

I want to be a soldier. [Everyone listening laughs.]

Why do you want to be a soldier?

I want to fight against the SPDC (Burmese military).

Where would you like to live when you grow up?

I like Thailand.

Do you have any toys to play with?

No.

If you could ask for one thing for your family, what would you want?

A radio machine.

Is there anything you would like to ask me... besides a radio?

I want money.

Even though you do not remember school, would you like to go to school again sometime?

Yes.

What would you like to learn in school?

I want to learn to speak Thai.
